The Landscape

The connection with the land goes back to Jenny’s childhood where she grew up on a family farm surrounded by animals and space. She has developed those connections in the central west at Borenore, and in the Far West at White Cliffs where they owned the Underground Motel for 11 years. She is continually drawn back to regional, rural and remote parts of NSW gaining inspiration and peace from the landscapes, the people and the life. You will often find a pragmatic and levelling rural element appear in even the most abstract of her works. She can be heard to talk about the vast and remote landscape …

It is out here that you look out across the landscape and you know — “we are all no more than a grain of sand on the beach or in the desert.” And when we are gone, even the ‘most important’ will only be remembered by a few.
